List of Catholic Boarding Schools

Alabama

  • St. Bernard Preparatory School – Grades 7-12
    Saint Bernard Preparatory School is a Catholic Christian school for grades 7 through 12. The 800-acre campus is located in Cullman, Alabama.

Arkansas

  • Subiaco Academy – Grades 7-12
    Subiaco Academy is a private Benedictine boarding school located in Subiaco, Arkansas. The school is located on the grounds of the Subiaco Abbey.

California

Connecticut

  • Canterbury School – Grades 9-12
    Canterbury School is a privately owned, boarding and day high school located in New Milford, CT. It belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford.
  • Marianapolis Preparatory School – Grades 9-12, PG
    Marianapolis Preparatory School is a private co-ed school located in Thompson, Conn. This 150-acre campus is located in rural Connecticut.

Illinois

  • Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart – Grades 9-12
    The all girl’s school was founded in 1858 in Chicago and moved to Lake Forest, Illinois in 1904. The academy is a private Catholic school.

Indiana

  • Sacred Heart Apostolic School – Grades 7-12
    Sacred Heart Apostolic is a private Roman Catholic missionary college for boys. The school was founded in Rolling Prairie, Indiana.
  • La Lumiere School – Grades 9-12
    La Lumiere School is a college prep high school located in northwest Indiana approximately 25 miles west of South Bend and 60 miles east of Chicago.

Kansas

  • Maur Hill Mount Academy – Grades 9-12
    Maur Hill Mount Academy is located in Atchison, KS. It is a modern Catholic boarding school that is a coed educational facility.
  • Thomas More Prep-Marian – Grades 9-12
    Thomas More Prep-Marion is a private Catholic high school located in Hays, Kansas. It is coeducational and serves grades 9-12. Its history dates back to 1908.

Louisiana

  • Academy of the Sacred Heart – Grades PK3-12
    Academy of the Sacred Heart is an independent Catholic school for girls. It teaches all grades from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade.

Maryland

  • Georgetown Preparatory School – Grades 9-12
    Georgetown Preparatory School is the oldest Catholic college preparatory school in the United States and is located in North Bethesda, Maryland.

Minnesota

  • Cotter High School – Grades 9-12
    Cotter High School is located in Winona, Minnesota. The campus is ran and operated as a boarding school and a preparatory school.
  • Saint John’s Prep – Grades 6-12
    St. John’s Preparatory School is a Catholic / Benedictine co-educational day and boarding school located in Collegeville, MN.

Mississippi

  • Saint Stanislaus College – Grades 6-13
    Founded in 1854, St. Stanislaus is located on the beach of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. One hour east of New Orleans, this Catholic boarding and day college prep school.

Missouri

  • Chaminade College Preparatory School – Grades 6–12
    Chaminade College Preparatory School is an all boys school that was founded back in 1910. The grades taught at this school are 6th grade to 12th grade.

Nebraska

  • Mt. Michael Benedictine – Grades 9–12
    Mt. Michael Benedictine is an all-boys high school for grades 9 through 12. Its religious affiliation is with the Roman Catholic Church.

New Hampshire

New York

  • Catherine McAuley High School – Grades 9-12
    Catherine McAuley High School is a private all girls school that is located in Brooklyn, New York. It was founded back in 1942.

Ohio

  • Gilmour Academy – Grades K-12
    Gilmour Academy, a coeducational Catholic school for students from preschool to grade 12, is located on 144 acres in Gates Mills, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb.

Oregon

  • St. Mary’s School – Grades 6-12
    St Mary’s School is a private school located on a 24-acre campus in Medford, Oregon. The school enrolls students in grades 6-12.

Rhode Island

  • Portsmouth Abbey School – Grades 9-12
    Portsmouth Abbey School is a co-ed, Catholic boarding school in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Grades 9-12 are offered.

Washington

  • Saint Michael’s Academy – Grades K-12
    St. Michaels’ Academy is a traditional Catholic school offering grades Pre K through 12. St. Michael’s is located in Spokane, Washington.

Wisconsin

  • Oaklawn Academy – Grades 6-9
    Founded in 1984 by the Legionaries of Christ, the all-boys Oaklawn Academy moved from its original location in Connecticut to Edgerton, WI.
  • St. Lawrence Seminary High School – Grades 9-12
    St. Lawrence Seminary High School, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is an all-male boarding school that prepares its’ students for a future calling in the Church.
