Hargrave Military Academy located in Chatham, Virginia is one of the premier military schools in the country. This all-male private boarding school focuses on college and military prep and serves the educational needs of boys from all over in grades 7 to 12. They also have post-graduate programs available where high school graduates can improve their grades, SAT scores and their atheletic abilities. Hargrave Military Academy is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools as well as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The current president of Hargrave is Brigadier General Doyle Broome Jr., who is a retired US Army officer. Several clubs and organizations are available at the school for students to take part in. These clubs include the Boy Scouts, Paintball Club, Photography, Spanish Club, Drill Team, Journalism, Color Guard, Beta Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
