St. Johnsbury Academy is a non-profit boarding school that is co-ed and located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. The students who enroll here are in grades 9-12. Founded in 1842, the vast majority of the students who are chosen are selected thru the old voucher system. The surrounding area of St. Johnsbury lacked a high school which is the main reason for those who apply to the private boarding school and day school. The residents who come here will come from up to 30 countries. The school is a fully accredited school by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. St. Johnsbury is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools as well as the College Board. Athletic students are encouraged to take part in school activities such as track and field. The school team has won 30 division championships with their most recent win being in 2012. In the years 1994, 1996 and 2003, the boys hockey team won State Championships. The football team has gone on to win division championships as well in the past.
