Chinquapin Preparatory School in Highland, Texas, is a private, nonprofit college prep school dedicated to the education of low income students in the greater Houston area. Founded in 1969, teaching grades 6-12, accreditation is from the Alliance of Accredited Private Schools.

All students receive scholarships with responsibility for only a small portion of tuition cost, based on family income. All students then have community service related jobs and or tasks, designed to instill and reinforce the values of the school’s motto “Quid pro Quo” (something for something).

Male students in 7th through twelfth grades live in dormitories Monday through Friday. Sixth grade boys and all female students are bussed daily.
