Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities’ philosophy is to foster an apprenticeship style of instruction in the arts. Here, artistically gifted students across the state collaborate with a master faculty of practicing artists, as well as educators.
This elite campus is a nine month, public residential high school whose concentrations include Music, Dance, Drama, Visual Arts and Creative Writing.
Artistically talented students must apply and audition for this prestigious program. While dancers may attend from sophomore through senior year, all other areas are two-year programs for junior and senior level students.
There is no tuition to attend SCGSAH, although processing and meal plan fees do apply. The intimate, Tuscan-village inspired campus boasts a ranking of #59 in Newsweek’s “2013 America’s Best High Schools.” The comprehensive, pre-professional, arts curriculum offers intensive training in a rigorous, yet supportive, environment.
