Camden Military Academy is a small, male only boarding school located in the rural city of Camden, SC. The school is the official state military academy and is operated as a not for profit private education facility providing both academic and military based learning.
Camden Military Academy was established in 1950 as the Camden Academy before being bought in 1958 by Colonel James F. Risher.
Colonel Risher transformed the school into a private military academy offering students the opportunity to complete military training alongside the completion of their high school studies.
Each year Camden Military Academy accepts only around 300 students in a bid to keep class sizes small and offer personalized attention for each student during every class from grade seven onwards.
