Located very near the capitol building in the heart of Oklahoma City’s downtown, the OSSM is a very prestigious, publicly-funded, co-educational, high school having a stated mission to further educational in the areas of mathematics and science.
Founded in 1983 by the Oklahoma Legislature, this residential boarding school charges no tuition or boarding fees for students who are qualified for admission. Admission to the school is decidedly competitive, and is accomplished during the student’s sophomore year. The student, if accepted, attends the two-year program during their junior and senior years only.
Roughly 70 percent of the faculty holds doctorate degrees in the subjects they teach, and over 96 percent of the graduates receive academic scholarships for college.
