Salem Academy, located in the metropolitan area of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is a private day and boarding school for girls in grades 9-12.

Although it holds no religious affiliation today, the school was originally founded in 1772 by the Moravian Church.

With between one hundred fifty and two hundred students, the college preparatory school accepts just over half of the applications it receives each year.

Each applicant is required to complete an interview and essay as well as submit teacher and personal recommendations and their SSAT test scores.

Students have a one hundred percent acceptance rate into college after leaving the school, including such notable colleges as Wake Forest University, Duke University, and the University of California at Berkeley.
