Saint Basil Academy
Saint Basil Academy is located in Garrison, New York. It was built along the bank of the Hudson River. Founded in 1944 by Archbishop Athenagoras as an orphanage it has expanded to be a Residential Child Care Center. The campus covers 150 acres.
The goal is to provide a loving home for children to grow into happy productive Orthodox Christians.
Both boys and girls are welcome to attend. A home for children in need due to a parent’s death, poverty, and abandonment. The staff will focus on mending a child’s mind, body and spirit to help them through their hardships.
Saint Basil is supported wholly by monetary donations to cover education, food, shelter and needs for a child to grow up healthy. Every child’s medical needs are provided as well. Clinical services may be provided to a child and the family when necessary.
