★ New Horizon Boys Ranch
New Horizons Boys Ranch is a year-round boys home and school designed to be a home for boys with attachment or behavioral disorders, ADD or ADHA. Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Montana facing the Canadian Rockies, New Horizons Boys Ranch offers a Christian residential program for boys, ages 7 to 14.
NHBR provides a year-round school via Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.). Lighthouse Christian Academy is the official distance-learning provider for A.C.E., which has been successfully educating students for over 30 years and currently has over 5,000 students.
New Horizons Boys Ranch explores alternative approaches to education as well. The school setting here on the ranch is smaller and more functional for the residents. Many students who come to NHBR have already discovered that they learn in different ways, and at different paces than their peers.
The main objective of NHBR’s academic program is to provide a year-round school for the students of our program– one in which they can get caught up if they have fallen behind. The academic program will teach students how to learn and think analytically. They will learn decision making for a positive future, and be guided into career decisions appropriate to their abilities. Such positive educational experiences will develop the students’ self-concepts and allow them to become productive members of society, while meeting requirements for graduation as set forth by the state of Montana.
NHBR staff provide a healing environment for the residents. It offer clinical, spiritual and group therapy on a continual basis. Anti-social behaviors are addressed generally through our highly structured Relational/Behavioral/Consequential treatment program. Building social relationship based on character development is stressed. A Biblical philosophy is fostered for residents to integrate into their personal value system, which provides a foundation for present and future family relationships.
“This letter is to express our gratitude for the investment you made in our son’s life over the past year. He has grown tremendously towards being a good young man and you all certainly helped put his life back on course. The work that you’re doing is enormous in the light of eternity. May our God continue to bless you and empower you as you do His work. Faithful is He who called you who will also do it. Gods’ Best to You! Thanks for giving our son back to us!” — Parents from Georgia
