Piney Woods Country Life School is located in Piney Woods, Mississippi. The school was founded in 1909 by Dr. Lawrence C. Jones.

It is mostly known as an African-American school that’s ranked top ten in the United States, but it is open to students of all backgrounds.

Piney Woods Country Life School is known to be members of the National Association of Independent Schools, Southern Association of Independent Schools, and the Jackson Area Association of Independent Schools. They are accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools.

The school is particularly famous for its unique mascot which features a single tornado, outfitted in the traditional black and gold colors of the prestigious school. It is co-ed and accepts students that are from grades 9 – 12.
