Sandy Springs Friends School is a college preparatory school located in Montgomery County, Maryland. The School was established in 1961 and opened in September. The first year there were 77 students in grades 10 and 11, with 12th grade being added in 1962.
The school is located on a 140 wooded acre campus and includes a pond which was made safe for swimming in 2011. Sandy Springs Friends School offers both five and seven day boarding programs.
Sandy Springs Friends School is a co-ed school which offers advance placement courses with an emphasis on traditional Quaker values.
The school’s motto to it’s 533 students is “Let Your Lives Speak”. This is a very traditional school which dates to the earliest days of the school.
The school is affiliated with Friends Council on Education and the National Association of Independent Schools. The school is accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools and approved by the Maryland Department of Education.
The yearly tuition for Boarding School Students is $52,200 and for 5 Day Boarding Students is $41,700. Financial aide is available to approximately 32% of the student body.
