Founded in 1982, Brehm Preparatory School is a non-profit boarding school specializing in education for students with learning disabilities.
Located in Carbondale, IL, Brehm is a small school, with about 90 students, tops, allowing emphasis on each students’ needs.
Designed for students in grades 6 through 12, Brehm accepts students with a broad range of learning disabilities.
Disabilities include, but not limited to those students with ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, Communication Disorders, Anxiety, and non-verbal Learning Disabilities.
Students are also taught many practical life skills to help them succeed in life, including personal hygiene, diet and nutrition, social skills, time management and even how to do their own laundry. Valuable life skills that will enable them to be productive individuals.
Brehm offers students a variety of recreational activities and clubs. Thee are both weekday and weekend activities such as cooking, fishing, horseback riding, even football.
