The Vanguard School in Lake Wales, FL is a private institution dedicated to the instruction of students with special learning needs. The original school was started in 1960 in the Philadelphia suburbs, and the Florida campus became independent around 1971. The school accepts domestic and international students from grades 5 through 12, with an additional year of prep offered for student s preparing to attend college. The school campus holds four dorms, two for girls and two for boys, and the academic buildings. In addition to a full range of activities, The Vanguard School offers small class sizes and a project-oriented curriculum.
